The main topics covered are the characteristics of the U.S. health system; major components of the system, including healthcare professionals, medical technology, healthcare financing sources, healthcare delivery structures (such as outpatient and primary care), inpatient facilities, managed care and integrated organizations, long-term care and services for special populations, system outcomes (such as healthcare cost), access to health care and quality and healthcare policies.
